We usually advise up to 3 guests to bring along with you to your appointment.
Our bridal area comfortably seats 3 guests.
We advise bringing along people who will be honest and helpful, but also support you in your choice of dress and encourage you to buy what you want and not what someone else wants
Bringing along too many people has proven to be quite stressful for the bride.
If you wish to bring along more people, we advise checking in with us first as our seating is limited during our busiest periods.
Although we welcome children in to the shop, we do request that all children would need to remain seated during appointments and supervised by a guest at all times.
This can be difficult for some young ones who may get bored quickly.
We kindly ask that pushchairs and prams are not brought into the shop, we are a small shop and we have our bridal gowns out on display at all times.
We also request that nappies are not changed in the shop, and ask for courtesy in regards to food and drinks being handed out and spilled in the shop.
Obviously if you are attending for an appointment to get a child fitted for dresses or suits this would be managed differently.
Wedding Vows can offer a payment plan with all new dress orders.
We do require that all payments are completed within the agreed time frame as signed for on your sales contract.
Alterations on dresses will not be started until the dress has been paid off in full as agreed and no items can be taken from the shop until full payment has been made.
Dresses can take between 4 - 8 months to arrive with us, depending on the designer and style of dress. During this time we encourage you to get your other suppliers booked and start looking for your shoes.
Once the dress has arrived into the shop, we will contact you to arrange to try the dress on. This is required within 14 days of the dress arriving with us.
If a payment plan is not in place then all balances must be paid for at this appointment.
You then have the option of taking your beautiful dress home in the bridal bag it comes in, or you can opt to store it in the shop with us from £40 per year which insures it in our storage department.
Yes of course
We advise you to book in with us 12 weeks before your wedding day to start your alterations.
If you haven't bought your dress from us, we can still offer an alteration service. The charge is £10 for the appointment for us to see you in the dress and advise on what would need to be done.
Alteration costs vary depending on what you require being done, you may need more than 1 fitting appointment.
Our alteration appointments are mainly done on Wednesday and Friday, so please keep this in mind when booking. We do not offer these appointments as weekend or evening slots.
We offer all of our customers a steaming service.
Dress and veil steaming starts from £15 per dress.
If your dress hasn't been purchased from us, please get in touch to chat as we do offer this service on other dresses, but it will depend on the material and design if we are able to do it.
We offer a packing service for your dress.
We advise you to purchase a suitable size suitcase, and then we will pack your dress inside with acid free tissue paper so it has a safe journey.
We then advise for you unpack your dress once at your destination accommodation and hang it up on the highest point you can.
Most hotels offer a steaming service with their wedding packages.
When you buy your dress with us, we go through all this with you and work with you to agree on the size dress we order.
Once your dress has been purchased, we cannot change the size so this would be your responsibility to keep a check on.
We can alter dresses up or down sizes, but please understand some dresses are more difficult to do than others and this will incur extra charges.
We advise purchasing your wedding dress 12-18 months before your wedding date. This gives enough time for the dress to be ordered, delivered, and sort any issues at all with the order, time to get your other suppliers sorted and to book in for your alterations sorted.
We advise booking in for your suit choose appointment between 6-9 months prior to your wedding date.
We advise for the initial appointment, just the groom and partner or best man attend.
This can be a lengthy appointment while we go through all your options, prices, choices etc, and we want to ensure that you, the groom, makes a choice that isn't influenced by others.
Children are welcome, but with the first appointment it can be difficult for them to stay seated and most children struggle to do so. As above, this can be a long appointment, and children are required to remain seated throughout and it can get very boring for them. So we usually advise to not bring children along to this first appointment.
During the first appointment, if you place a deposit with us then we can measure up yourself and whoever is with you at the time.
With the rest of your party we advise them to contact us to book a measure appointment within a few weeks of this so we can get the orders onto the system asap.
We can then re-measure everyone nearer the wedding date.
We will always advise to contact us to book an appointment.
We have a main Bridal Room and a Suit Hire Department which do get booked up well in advance.
We will always try to accommodate anyone who comes into the shop, but we are only able to do what we have capacity to do.
Booking an appointment ensures you have exclusive use of the department you require, a dedicated consultant and an allocated time slot so you aren't being rushed.
We also do not mix appointments, so if you arrive into the shop without an appointment and someone else has that booked, we do not allow others to wander in to someone's private appointment to ensure privacy.
In regards to getting measured for suits, we have dedicated menswear consultants who work within the shop. If you come in for a measure without an appointment, there may not be anyone in the shop able to measure you at that time.
